Moonlighting

I take on another editing project again.

The last time I took a project, it was an Additional Math assessment for Sec 3 and Sec 4.
I went through the whole ordeal, promising myself never to take on another project.
But this time, I went back to do it again...
P3 Math Test Papers editing for $xxx dollars.
I thought since it is a P3 Math book, it should be rather easy..
And I could get my sister to check the answer for me.

I was sooooo like the wrong!!!

It turns out that the author --- sorry, I mean, the writer, has a worse command of English than I do.
If this entry is grammatically bad, the original ms is 10 times (maybe 12?) worse than this.
  • How many eggs did he sold?
  • He brought two pants for $60.
  • How many chocolates he left with?
  • Add two with the product of 10 and 3.
  • How much did he spent?
  • If he starting his work at 10 am, What time did he end?
The list goes on....
I entertained myself with the manuscript the whole night.
I slept at 4.30 a.m. this morning and woke up at 7.30 a.m.
If he gets $xxxx for his script, i think i need to suggest to my senior editor for 50% of his money to go to my account instead.
Suddenly I remember what i'd tell my math class.
I can teach English! - I is a girl...
Yawn..

The only boy in cellgroup whom i have not yet successfully "conquered".

This is the "she-forced-me-to-sit-on-her-lap-and-pose-with-a-smile" kind of picture.

Alright.. this one is much cooler
The power of one boy...

random thought

One thing that has been going through my mind recently is the math syllabus and teaching xyz.

I did a check:
Out of 168 hours a week,
I spend:
49 hours sleeping,
16 hours travelling (conservatively),
11 hours eating
7 hours showering and getting ready,
3.5 hours waiting
24.5 hours teaching in classroom setting,
18 other hours at work in preparation for the lesson,
8 other hours at home to prepare lesson notes,
8 hours giving math tuitions,
6 hours in church and cell group,
10 hours in JAMs,
7 hours of time thinking/quiet time...

I just realise i spend 58.5 hours each week thinking abt math.. xyz...
so much that i dream of algebra when i am sleeping.
It's important to keep one's mind alive and thinking.
But thinking abt math, esp secondary school math, is not too healthy.
That's why i decide to blog once again.
At least i am thinking and writing more english rather than numbers now.

... and i just spend one hour typing this.
That is one hour less for my sleep tonight.
