recently i shared with a friend the meaning of my name.
a boat in the middle of the ocean

for years, i think of the meaning as cool.
it quite aptly reflected how i left my family on my own as a 12 year old teenager.
alone - scary and away from the shore.

but there is always the fresh way of looking at things, a new perception.

when Jesus saw Simon, He saw a rock, instead of unstable reed.
when God sees us, He sees the way He intends us to be, rather than the way we, or others make ourselves out to be.

So, this friend of mine, redefined my name
a boat in the middle of the ocean
- one that brings comfort and shelter to others..

simply awesome
it was a revelation to me.

it was a new perspective, and it came so quickly from her.
how very wise indeed.
it changed the way i think.

you can choose to look at the negative of a matter,
to look at things from a passive mind,
or you can choose to look beyond the negative,
to look out for the good,
to perceive the way God wants it to be,
to wisely turn the situation around.

How very wise.
